On this historic occasion, Pakistan solidified its position as the seventh nuclear power in the world and the first among Muslim nations, following the demonstration of its nuclear capabilities through tests conducted at Chaghai in Balochistan on May 28, 1998. These tests were conducted in response to India’s nuclear detonations on May 11th and 13th of the same year at Pokhran in the Rajasthan state of India.
The establishment of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal on this day served as a means of deterrence for peaceful purposes, bolstering the nation’s defense capabilities.
To mark this significant day, the Prime Minister has declared a public holiday, emphasizing the importance of fortifying Pakistan’s defense.
Acting President, Prime Minister, and Services Chiefs have extended their congratulations to the nation on the observance of the 26th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer.
In his message for the occasion, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani reiterated the nation’s commitment to fostering a peaceful and stable world.
