BHIT SHAH: The 281st Urs of the renowned Sindhi poet and revered Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is set to commence today, marking the 14th of Safar, in Bhit Shah.
Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, will officially inaugurate the three-day Urs celebrations by laying a floral wreath at the Mazar of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, honoring the Sufi poet’s legacy.
In recognition of the annual Urs, the provincial government has declared today a public holiday. As a result, all government and private schools, colleges, and universities under the Sindh government’s jurisdiction will remain closed.
The Urs held annually from the 14th of Safar at Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s final resting place in Bhit Shah, draws devotees and admirers from across the region, celebrating the spiritual and cultural contributions of the revered Sufi.
