The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is gearing up to commence the construction of a bus depot at Zero Point, as 30 out of a total of 160 electric buses are set to arrive from China in January.
The CDA Chairman, Anwarul Haq, chaired a meeting to review the progress on the import of buses and was informed that 30 buses would arrive in Islamabad in January, followed by two more fleets in February and March.
Chairman Anwarul Haq reportedly directed the concerned department to expedite the process to ensure the timely arrival of all the buses. The CDA plans to operate the 160 buses on 13 routes in the capital. The main depot will be constructed at Zero Point along Srinagar Highway towards the H-8 side, with a designated piece of land already earmarked for the purpose by the CDA planning wing.
