In 2023, Swat Valley welcomed 449,000 tourists, including 4,000 foreigners from 108 countries, according to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Qasim Ali Khan on Sunday.
Dr. Ali highlighted Swat Valley’s global reputation for its natural beauty and noted a significant increase in tourist visits compared to 2022. The tourists explored various scenic spots, including Malam Jabba, Gabin Jabba, Kalam, Bahrain, Mahodand, Madyan, and Marghuzar.
Dr. Qasim Ali emphasized the efforts of the Upper Swat Development Authority, in collaboration with the police and district administration, to boost tourism. He mentioned the introduction of new tourist destinations and the enhancement of infrastructure and facilities to strengthen the tourism sector and create livelihood opportunities for more people.
Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Upper Swat Development Authority Board, also expressed satisfaction with the substantial influx of tourists to Swat during the outgoing year.
