Total of the cotton arrived on October 15th were 5.208 million bales. This year target of 9.3 million cotton bales will either be met or exceeded.

The amount of cotton arrived on october 15 was already 94% higher than the cotton arrived on the same date last year 2020, that is why, Federal Minister Syed Fakhar Imam is hopefull to exceed the current year target of 9.3 million cotton bales.
In regards to provinces, cotton bales arrived in sindh ginning factories were 99% higher and in punjab ginning factories arrived cotton bales were 87% higher than the cotton bales arrived on the same date last year.
Federal Minister also said that this progress is a great news for the economy of Pakistan, including Pakistan’s GDP, the income of farmers and cotton pickers which are mostly rural women, Pakistan textile exports and textile output, edible oil production from the cotton seed, animal feed from cotton cakes and household fuel for rural population.
Minister Syed Fakhar Imam on the reason for higher production stated that, this years high yield of cotton was all because of hard work from the farmer and the favorable weather conditions.
The government should also be appreciated for their efforts this year, including providing subsidies and higher quality seed and the cotton price policy of Pkr5000 per 40kg.
