The Punjab government awarded a cash prize of 2.5 million rupees for Haider Ali, who won a gold medal for Pakistan at the Tokyo Paralympics.
According to Rai Taemur Bhatti, Punjab Sports Minister, Haider Ali joyfully presented the Japanese Paralympic gold medal to the whole country.
Haider threw a distance of 55,26 meters on his fifth of six attempts to earn the greatest distance.
Zhabnyak of Ukraine won the silver medal in 52.43 meters, while Teixeira de Souza took bronze in 51.86.
Haider has previously won two medals in the long jump for Pakistan, silver in Beijing and a bronze in Rio.
