Veena Malik is making a comeback in the entertainment business with a new Urduflix series.
“I was waiting for a very excellent screenplay and turned down several projects, including some reality shows that were not up to par and quite a few drama scripts,” she explained to Images.
She eventually agreed on a project for the OTT platform alongside Dr. Muhammad Younas Butt of Hum Sab Umeed Say Hain fame. “We’ve been talking about it for a while, but it’s now happening for Urduflix,” she added, adding that she has a number of more ideas in the works.
She defined the show as a social and political comedy in which “social concerns would be handled in [a] lighter spirit alongside politics.”
Urduflix has been creating series after series with huge names in Pakistan, however, not all of the performers are the same. Cricketer Fawad Alam will make his platform debut in a series, while PR guru Frieha Altaf will play a wicked midwife in her own series. Agha Ali’s directorial breakthrough on the platform was also recently revealed.
