Ramiz Raja, the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), announced that former Australian opener Matthew Hayden and former South African bowler Vernon Philander will be Pakistan’s new trainers for the 2017 T20 World Cup.
Hayden, according to Ramiz, will be the ideal coach for Pakistan’s youthful and talented roster because he will create aggression in the team. He stated that Hayden is a world-class batter and that his attitude and aura will be a great help to the guys in the locker room.
Former opening Vernon Philander was a superb seam bowler with an unrivaled understanding of the game, according to the former opener. He stated that his hiring will benefit the national squad.
The 59-year-old stated that PCB’s goal is to assist Pakistan in winning the T20 World Cup, adding that these two coaches will instill a winning attitude in the team. He stated that the squad has all the potential in the world to win the T20 World Cup and that all they need is a 10% growth.
Ramiz said that Bank Alfalah volunteered to cover the international coaches’ salary and praised them for their kind gesture. He stated that this was made possible by PCB’s strategic relationship with Bank Alfalah, and he anticipated that additional strategic partnerships would improve the country’s cricketing infrastructure.
