Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan is clearly looking to expand its car range even more, as the business has announced that the HS Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is now on display at the MG Lounge in Lahore.
MG confirmed the announcement on social media, as well as confirming that the new HS PHEV will be available on Pakistani roads shortly, without providing further specifics.
For the uninitiated, the MG HS PHEV is a plugin hybrid version that blends petrol and electric power. The MG HS PHEV is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that, when combined with a 90 kW hybrid electric motor, generates 256 horsepower and 370 newton-meters of torque, which is routed to the front wheels through a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
The vehicle also includes a 16.6 kWh battery pack installed in the SUV’s bottom-rear portion, allowing for optimum weight distribution, as well as onboard charging capabilities at a flow rate of 3.7 kWh.
In addition to a strong engine, the business promises a very remarkable 55 km/liter fuel average, however, statistics are likely to differ in practice. Furthermore, the hybrid powertrain allows for a fairly quick 0-100 km/h time of only 7.1 seconds.
Aside from the standard safety and convenience features included in MG Pilot specifications, the PHEV model additionally incorporates regenerative braking, which allows the vehicle’s battery to recharge itself when the brakes are engaged.
The pricing and launch date of the car has not yet been made public, but based on the worldwide price of the vehicle, the MG HS PHEV would likely cost the same as the MG ZS EV, which is approximately Rs. 6.5 million. Granted, it’s a lot of money, but the cheap running costs, increased power, contemporary amenities, and pleasant ride make it a good buy.
