Pakistan and Saudia Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for large-scale tree planting in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan will be providing technical help to a Saudi Arabian tree-planting endeavour worth $10 billion.
Furthermore, a delegation to carry out the agreement is dispatched by The Saudi Ministry of Environment.
During a news conference with the Saudi team following the signing ceremony, special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate change, Malik Amin Aslam revealed that the green policy between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will officially begin today (Wednesday).
Malik Amin Aslam lauded the efforts of Pakistan’s concept of planting trees, “The world is now seeing our green vision as a model. The agreement with Saudi Arabia is also due to this vision. Saudi Arabia has set a target of planting 40 billion trees in the kingdom and the Middle East under the Green Initiative, for which Pakistan will share its expertise and experience with the Saudi government.”
Moreover, The Saudi Green Initiative strives to plant 40 billion trees in the Middle East, with 10 billion of those being planted in Saudi Arabia. To make the tree-planting endeavour a success, the Saudi government wants to draw on Pakistan’s expertise.
