Plan in place to handle tourist influx to Murree on Eid

The district government in Murree does not want to take any chances this holiday season. The authorities have prepared a detailed strategy to deal with visitor traffic during Eid Ul Fitr, which is coming up next week.

More than 22 individuals died in Murree last winter after becoming trapped in the snow for more than three months. As a result, the investigation committee blamed government officials and agencies for their negligence.

Over 15 top officials were sacked as a consequence, including the Rawalpindi commissioner, deputy commissioner, and city police officer.

Although there will be no snow, the Meteorological Office has predicted strong rains and gusty winds during the Eid holidays, which will take place from May 2 to May 5. As a result, the district administration has taken steps to ensure Murree’s trips next week go well.

Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq convened a meeting earlier this week to discuss the situation. The meeting decided that parking automobiles at Murree’s entry and departure points would be prohibited. Visitors will not be allowed to park their vehicles outside of authorized parking areas, and cooking on the roadside will also be restricted.

Farooq stated that while providing tourist facilities is a high concern, individuals must still be more responsible with traffic arrangements to minimize difficulties. Special teams have been appointed to manage public concerns, and the assistant commissioner will guarantee that local people and visitors do not conflict.

He also said that complaint offices have been set up on The Mall for hotels that overcharge guests, and that a thorough strategy has been put in place to handle Murree’s water deficit and sanitation difficulties.
