Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), has issued orders to the engineering and finance staff to produce a PC-1 for the total renovation of Faisal Mosque.
Yesterday, during a meeting at CDA Headquarters, the instruction was given.
Faisal Mosque has not been renovated in almost four decades, and its parking lots and facilities are in need of repairs. The maintenance grant it receives from the federal government falls short of the amount necessary for its overall maintenance.
As a result, the CDA has determined that this is a landmark for Pakistan and has set up Rs. 200 million from its own budget for its renovation. In addition, a separate directorate will be established with a full team for horticulture, maintenance, electrical, and civil works.
In addition, the mosque will be illuminated and solarized, and the Municipal Administration Directorate will be given orders that no parking fees or licences will be issued inside the area in order to protect its sanctity and natural beauty. Instead, parking will be provided for free.
