On Friday, the Central Jail revealed the results of exams given to students of Alkhidmat Karachi’s Computer and Language Courses in 2021.
Two candidates were unable to take the exams due to pre-scheduled court visits, resulting in a total of 86 candidates being pronounced successful.
Those who were unable to take the tests due to their unavailability will be able to do so later, saving them an academic year. The students studied a variety of subjects as part of the project, including English, computer graphics, and CIT Diploma courses.
Senior Superintendent of Central Jail, Karachi, Muhammad Hasan Suhto, who was the chief guest on the occasion, presented certificates to the successful students during a simple ceremony at the prison. At the ceremony, Manzar Alam, senior manager of Alkhidmat Karachi, was also present.
Mr. Suhto congratulated the successful prisoners and stated that the jail administration was willing to work with prisoners who wanted to make the most of their time in prison by taking English language and computer classes.
He praised Alkhidmat for the excellent project, saying it would help the prisoners make a decent living and be valuable to society once they were released.
The Alkhidmat institute at Karachi’s Central Jail is linked with the Sindh Board of Technical Education, which also awards certificates. The offenders’ sentences can be reduced by six months if they complete the courses successfully.
