The Education System in Pakistan & The Concept

The education system in Pakistan is still at the parochial concept of judging students on the basis of how much they score in a test no matter what their age is. A piece of paper and a grade defines the success of a child who grows up being not enough if they don’t get an A in every subject or score 95% or more. Is it fair? Absolutely not. Is there a guarantee that good grades will land up in a good-paying job? What about the skill set? What about creativity?

All these alarming questions yet no solution is devised or even talked about. One cannot keep on asking a fish to climb a tree. Every person has their own individuality, however the education system in Pakistan fails to understand it. The choices to choose a career are also very narrow. There are seldom any non-technical fields that are encouraged to join or used as a polishing measure for the children’s abilities.

This leads to a wrong choice of field for many people out there that ultimately turn into a disaster and ruin so many lives. It also causes an adverse effect on the minds of the children. Rote learning, high GPAs and performing well theoretically is not even quarter of what practical life is about. Even then, the system refuses to devise any plan on such areas. However the only pragmatic solution that could make a difference is if the education system is revised completely and introduction of new subject areas are encouraged. The teaching methods are modified while the grading system is also redrafted.
