The Consulate General of Pakistan in Toronto hosted a networking event for a visiting delegation of ITC executives from Pakistan on June 21, 2022.
The event was attended by over 50 executives and entrepreneurs from different ITC companies in Toronto, including representatives from the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN) and the FAST-NU Alumni Association, North America (FAA-NA).
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Toronto has extended an invitation to 15 leading ITC executives from Pakistan to attend the Collision Toronto Conference 2022. This conference is one of the biggest tech events across the globe, and is especially well-attended in North America.
During his remarks, Consul General Abdul Hameed urged Pakistani ITC entrepreneurs to enhance their focus on the Canadian market. He noted that the ITC sector in Canada has been posting stronger annual growth than the total economy.
He noted that the ITC sector was well-positioned to benefit from the economy-wide recovery and that demand was expected to reflect the accelerating adoption of many technology solutions and private and public investments in digital infrastructure.
The ITC executives appreciated the efforts made by the Consulate General for making the visit of the delegation from Pakistan possible and arranging the networking event.
The representatives from Pakistan drew attention to the role and efforts of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) in improving Pakistan’s overall policy environment and information technology infrastructure.
They pointed out that the Pakistani information technology industry has much to offer Canadian companies, such as a large population of skilled young people, and an enabling policy and IT infrastructure.
The leading ITC officials from Canada presented their vision for the promotion of Pakistani startups. They explained the importance of monitoring the latest trends in the industry and developing a mechanism to adapt to the changing environment quickly.
The Canadian companies also expressed interest in collaborating with the Pakistani companies working in health tech, startups, FinTech, Games & Animations.
