CAA slashes former employees’ pensions

The CAA has decided to reduce the pensions of its retired employees, sources said on Wednesday.

According to sources, the retired additional directors of executive group 7 have faced a cut in their pensions. The decision was taken by the board of directors of the CAA.

Director-General CAA Khaqan Murtaza has suggested a cut in pension, according to reports. However, a spokesman for the aviation authority has denied these reports, despite sharing documentary proof with him.

It is important to note that the federal government has approved a 15 percent increase in the salaries of government employees and a 5 percent hike in pensions for the next fiscal year 2022-23. Additionally, the government has approved the merging of adhoc allowances into the basic pay.

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) last year issued a notification seeking voluntary donations from its employees for the financial assistance of a rehabilitation center for children with neuromuscular disorders.

The rehabilitation center, run by Al-Shifa Trust, provides specialized care and education for children afflicted with disorders such as cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. We hope that through the generosity of our employees, we will be able to make a positive difference in the lives of these children.
