The Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Syed Aminul Haque, stated on Thursday that Pakistan is working diligently to achieve its goal of $15 billion in IT exports within the next three years.
He delivered these remarks during a panel discussion on “Promoting US-Pakistan Innovation and Investment” at the National Incubation Centre (NIC) Karachi at the NED University of Engineering and Technology.
The minister stated that Pakistan’s IT exports had reached $2.6 billion in the 2021-22 fiscal year, while the target for the 2022-23 fiscal year had been set at $3 billion.
He went on to say that the IT ministry was determined to take the figure up to $15 billion in a three-year plan and that multiple steps had been taken under the Digital Pakistan vision to promote the sector, resulting in the expansion of internet connectivity, broadband and cellular coverage.
