BEIJING – The PLA navy spokesperson announced on Sunday that Pakistan and China will be conducting a joint naval exercise off the coast of Shanghai in mid-July.
This will be a great opportunity for the two countries to strengthen their relationship and improve their naval capabilities.
The exercise — codenamed “Sea Guardians-2” — is aimed at “jointly confronting naval security challenges” and seeks to enhance defense cooperation between both the allied countries.
Liu noted that the drills are part of an existing annual plan and are not directed at any specific third party. He added that the move will also help to foster an all-weather strategic partnership.
The Pakistan Navy has yet to make an official statement about the upcoming drills.
