The Lahore Allama Iqbal International Airport’s primary runway, which was closed for flights in August 2020 for repairs and upgrades, finally reopened on Saturday.
The initially the project was expected to be completed within eighteen months. However, due to certain circumstances, the upgrades to the runway could not be completed in a timely manner, they elaborated.
The inaugural function was addressed by Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique while Member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Aviation Shaukat Ali, Director General (DG) Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Khaqan Murtaza, Additional DG Jamal Arshad, and DG Airports Security Force (ASF) were in attendance at the event..
