Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has declared that children of martyred Cops will receive free education.
The announcement was given by the chief minister of Punjab while he was speaking at a ceremony in Lahore’s Police Lines. The ceremony was held in honour of today’s (Thursday) recognition of police martyrs.
Speaking at the event, CM Pervaiz Elahi said the provincial administration was developing a bill to offer free education to the children of martyred police officers. He continued, “The government will also develop employment opportunities for the children.”
CM Punjab also announced an increase in the amount of compensation to be paid to policemen who embrace martyrdom in the line of duty. “The government will provide new vehicles for police patrolling,” he added.
Pervaiz Elahi stated that the government will set up a monitoring unit to monitor the measure itself.
He also criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for supposedly “neglecting” the police. The country, he stated, “will never forget the sacrifices of the police force and will continue to remember them with high regard and honor.”
Police Martyrs’ Day is being observed today (Tuesday) across the country to pay tributes to police personnel who have rendered their lives for the security and stability of the country.
