To commemorate Pakistan’s 75th anniversary of independence, the High Commission of Pakistan ran a major ad campaign on 100 of London’s iconic red buses.
The advertising campaign, which is being done in partnership with ONE Homes, a top real estate developer in London, highlights the beauty of Pakistan and its culture, including the Islamabad Monument, K2, the Badshahi Masjid, and the three World Cup footballs Pakistan has produced.
High Commissioner Moazzam Ahmad Khan commented on the campaign, saying: “We’re happy to begin this campaign to honor 75 years of Pakistani independence and 75 years of friendship between Britain and Pakistan.”
“Pakistan’s diversity and beauty is unparalleled and we have featured various elements in this campaign which will be seen by millions in the global melting pot of Central London.”
The campaign which runs along London’s busiest routes including Oxford Street, Edgware Road, Piccadilly Circus and London’s famous Harrods department store is expected to be seen by over 10 million people throughout the campaign.
Zeeshaan Shah, Pakistan’s Ambassador-at-Large for Investment, stated: “London is the capital of the globe, and Pakistan and the United Kingdom have a long history of cooperation.”
“There is no better place in the world than the beautiful city of London to celebrate 75 years of Pakistan’s Independence and 75 years of Great Britain and Pakistan’s bilateral relations.”
Leading businesses use London’s red double-decker buses to present themselves to wealthy international audiences, turning them into a global icon.
The 100 red London buses are running on the busiest routes of London such as Oxford Circus, Regent’s Street, Marble Arch, Knightsbridge, Piccadilly Circus, Edgware Road, Willesden Green, Stratford, Whitechapel and Soho.
The buses pass through the routes which are popular with tourists and locals alike who frequent central London location during the summer period. London is seeing a huge influx of international and local tourists for the first time after the UK came out of the COVID lockdown.
Commenting on the campaign, Aqib Hassan Chief Commercial Officer of ONE Homes said: “We are proud to support this campaign and be part of such a fabulous initiative.”
“Pakistan’s economy has been [on] a hugely upward trajectory in recent weeks and experts expect this momentum to continue as key economic reforms are taking place.”
“Our group has wide-spread business operations from the US, London and Dubai to Pakistan and we will always support Pakistan and keep flying our motherland flag,” he said.
“As those of Pakistani heritage it is our responsibility to give back to the country which gave us the platform to be leaders across the globe,” Hassan added.
