Eisha Sajid, a young mountaineer from Pakistan, has her sights set on becoming the youngest person ever to summit Mt. Manaslu in Nepal. The 16-year-old has already arrived in Nepal and will likely finish her journey by the end of the month.
If Eisha is successful in reaching the peak, she will break the age record held by her Indian counterpart Arjun Vajpai and become the youngest mountaineer to accomplish it. At the age of 18, Vajpai ascended Mount Manaslu in 2011.
Additionally, Eisha will be the world’s youngest mountaineer to reach the top of any peak higher than 8,000 meters. Shehroze Kashif, a Pakistani mountaineer who scaled Broad Peak at the age of 17, presently holds the record.
Eisha recently attempted to ascend Broad Peak by herself, but dangerous weather forced her to abandon the expedition in the middle of it.
The 16-year-old climber will follow the instructions of famous Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja to the top of Mount Manaslu. With the ascent of 14 8-thousanders in just over six months, Purja currently owns the world record.
