During the event held by King Charles-III for the visiting dignitaries in London, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif was introduced to him.
Extending condolences for the loss of his mother Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, PM Shehbaz Sharif noted that the late monarch was a source of strength and inspiration for generations of Commonwealth citizens.
The prime minister noted that Her Majesty’s two trips to Pakistan were well-remembered by the people. The Royal family and the people of Pakistan have a close relationship that has only grown stronger over time.
PM Shehbaz Sharif sent congratulations to His Majesty on his ascension to the throne on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan. He also expressed the hope that he would carry on his mother’s legacy by fostering even closer ties amongst Commonwealth nations.
His Majesty was highly respected by the people of Pakistan, who eagerly awaited his visit as soon as possible.
In response to the severe floods, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also thanked the British monarch for the royal family’s sympathies and support. Pakistan was quite grateful of the British government’s and the public’s response to the request for assistance.
