Pakistan has emerged as a next-level digital transformation country after they have announced that an International Payment Gateway will be launched. The NITB National Information Technology Board has announced that they are working on the project and will announce the extra-ordinary news soon.
The availability of the project is the real catch in the story, it will be available for the general public. Despite being the first International Payment Gateway of the country, it will prove to be one of the best payment methods in the world. The CEO of NITB presented the idea and performance of the board in the recent cabinet meeting. Since, Paypal, eBay, Amazon and other global giants in the payment processing field are not available in Pakistan, the freelancing community is facing challenges. The community has been the number fourth in the world in terms of generating revenue from Freelancing. Despite, the poor infrastructure, lack of government support, crippled money transfer mechanisms have caused severe issues for the Pakistani freelancers.
The community of Freelancers wrote a letter to the PM of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan, stating their difficulties and the lack of support from the government in their basic requirement for earning through freelancing. The Community stated in the letter;
We are writing this letter as an initiative to express our extreme disappointment and frustration with your lack of concern for Pakistan’s freelancing youth who are feeling deceived by your promises to bring companies like PayPal, eBay, Amazon, and other global giants.
Freelancer Community Pakistan
Since PM Imran Khan tries and convinces overseas Pakistani’s and international organizations to invest in the country, the handcuffed freelancers are generating revenue but are not advised and helped accordingly. The introduction of Paypal in Pakistan has always been a dream for the youth, these global giants have yet to set foot in Pakistan. However, the new plan and IPG of Pakistan will provide enough support to the people of Pakistan and Freelancers.
