The Punjab govt, which is led by Pervaiz Elahi, has given the go-ahead for ten roads to be built or upgraded in six different cities, including Hafizabad, Gujrat, and Pindi Bhattian.
Details indicated that the government would widen the eight various roadways. In the Hafizabad area, a 134 km road would be upgraded for a total cost of Rs43 billion.
The cost of upgrading the 98 km Hafizabad-Gujrat road is estimated to be Rs. 8.2 billion. The cost of upgrading a further 36 km of road in Pindi Bhattian would be Rs910 million.
Gujrat district was promoted to division status by the Punjab government earlier in August, bringing the province’s total number of divisions to 10.
Details indicate that once Governor of Punjab Baleegh-ur-Rehman granted his final assent, Gujrat was promoted to the division. The newly created division’s divisional headquarters have been moved to Gujrat City.
Three districts—Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, and Hafiz Abad—were to be included in the division, according to the announcement.
