In the wake of continuing flight operations to Islamabad from the United Kingdom, British Airways (BA) is looking for authorization from Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) to begin the flights to Lahore. As a team of experts from the airline visited Allama Iqbal International Airport recently to examine the arrangements made by the air Airport administration.  The flight activities to Islamabad were resumed in August, which had been suspended due to the corona virus outbreak.

The Senior PCAA said that, the number of departures from the UK to Islamabad have increased. The airline began operating non-stop flights three times each week from London’s Heathrow Airport and Islamabad. The first flight arrived on Aug 14 in Islamabad as safety measures were taken for the security of its crew and passengers. The Airline had just confirmed the airport management about the routine cleaning and safety measures against the coronavirus for security of the crew and people within.

The Airport authorities have been guaranteeing the neatness at airports both Lahore and Islamabad as washrooms, waiting for lounges, and check-in zones all have been cleaned and sanitized on a standard premise. Social distance is likely being to be observed and practice at the air terminals.

British Airways resumed its flight operations to Pakistan in June 2019. 10 years after a bombing in Islamabad hotel in 2008 prompted the suspension of its flights to Pakistan. In this case, flight tasks were suspended again because of the worldwide spread of coronavirus. After being granted the authorization by the PCAA, British Airways began operating three flights per week to Islamabad which have been raised to five flights.
