Virgin Atlantic Airlines will start operating flights to Lahore and Islamabad Airport Pakistan from Heathrow Airport. Direct flights from Heathrow will operate on both airports while direct flights from Manchester Airport will only be for Islamabad. Additionally, the bookings for the flights will start from September and operations will start later this year in December.
Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, the airline had to pause the flights to Islamabad airport for precautions. The team from the Airline visited the airports for inspection of proper management and arrangement. Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore is set to host the Virgin Atlantic alongside Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad. The announcement was made after British Airways asked permission from CAA Pakistan for operating in Lahore.
However, British Airways resumed the operations in Pakistan after 11 years in 2019. The suspended operations were made in the wake of the Marriot Hotel Bombing in 2008. The long pause on the airline services has now halted and the operations are set to resume from December this year.
