According to a handout made available on Friday, adventure athlete Samar Khan successfully ascended and snowboarded a 5,610-meter virgin peak, establishing a “new culture of backcountry snowboarding in the country.”
The handout stated that Khan was the first to reach the peak’s summit and snowboard there, earning the peak the moniker “Ghar e Samar.”
Khan, a native of KP’s Dir, was the first person to reach the summit, and she was followed by her teammates Azam Baig, Hashir Rafique, Jaffar Ullah, and Zehran Baig.
“The new avenue of winter extreme sports has been opened for aspiring youth of Pakistan which has a huge potential keeping in mind the largest mountain ranges we have,” it added.
