One of the most popular TV shows ever in Pakistan is Ainak Wala Jinn. The PTV-produced program was broadcast for four seasons and quickly won over viewers. The program was such a success that it was rerun twice, much to the delight of the audience.
Now, PTV is preparing to air Ainakwala Jinn in an effort to bring back fond memories of earlier times. The show’s creator and TV star, Haseeb Pasha, recently discussed the show’s future ambitions in a talk.
“I recently had a conversation with some PTV officials at the Lahore station and they expressed their desire to revive the show on the miniscreen,” said Mr Pasha.
When asked why the play was discontinued in 2002, Mr. Pasha responded that PTV producers and others had lost interest in it. The show’s creator, producer, and writer, Hafeez Tahir, took a great deal of interest in its creation. Mr. Pasha claimed that no one bothered to continue the show after Mr. Tahir left.
He said that a puppet theatre had just been added to the play, which has been performing with new costumes in the Alhamra Arts Centre on The Mall since February 2022.
This puppet theatre had an extended history; it was introduced three decades ago by Samina Ahmed, TV artiste and producer, who used to be the Deputy Director of Programmes at the Lahore Arts Council.
