During a nocturnal raid, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) sealed the Centaurus Mall.
The change occurred hours after a contentious argument between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas of Azad Kashmir during the latter’s visit to Mangla. The AJK PM was not given a chance to speak during the speech by PM Shehbaz Sharif.
According to reports, a CDA team and local police attacked the Centaurus Mall and drove out the management and security personnel before sealing the structure.
The mall has been sealed, according to the CDA, due to “illegal use.”
The AJK PM Sardar Tanveer Ilyas owns the Centaurus Shopping Mall, which caught fire earlier in October for unclear reasons. A spokesman for the AJK PM accused the federal government of the fire.
Raja Usman, the AJK PM’s spokesperson, said to journalists that the Centaurus Mall fire was intentionally started because the federal government was committing political victimization in view of the current political climate.
He asserted that the federal government intends to make the Islamabad shopping mall fire a greater incident than the Model Town fire and blamed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for it.
