In order to prevent abductions and scams, the Sindh Police has launched a social media campaign advising people to exercise caution when speaking with strangers on the phone or over social media sites like Facebook.
The campaign also focuses on guys who are tricked into befriending women through voice calls who are actually disguised criminals. The Sindh Police issued a public service announcement advising people to avoid making friends and take precautions to avoid being scammed or abducted.
The province police warned people in its campaign not to befriend anyone who sounds like a woman over the phone and requests to visit Sukkur, Gothki, Shikarpur, or Kashmore.
The police-released billboard also warned that locals might be required to travel to the aforementioned provincial cities for business-related reasons, such as buying a car, truck, tractor, or uncommon birds and animals. They must therefore refrain from engaging in any such activities.
Additionally, people have been warned not to visit these province-wide cities excessively to prevent being kidnapped. The police asked people to make sure that their family members and children were aware of such calls.
