Fog-induced poor visibility has severely hampered flight operations at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, causing a number of flights to be delayed.
Four international flights had to be diverted to Islamabad airport because the visibility at the Lahore airport’s runway had decreased.
Flights from Lahore to Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Medina, Quetta, and Jeddah now depart through Islamabad airport.
In order to receive up-to-date information about flights, the PIA spokesperson urged the passengers to call the PIA call centre at (021) 111 786 786.
Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines made the decision to move all international flight operations from the capital of Punjab to Islamabad between the hours of 10 p.m. and 11 a.m. because of poor visibility and fog in Lahore.
The rescheduling of flights during these hours is temporary and will be restored as soon as the foggy conditions improve, according to the national flag carrier.
