Pakistan Peoples Party has obtained a clear majority in all nine districts of the Hyderabad division in the second phase of local bodies elections.
Provisional and unverified results indicate the PPP is also in the lead in Karachi.
According to Altaf Pirzado, our Karachi correspondent, the Pakistan Peoples Party has won majorities in Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Badin, Thatta, and Sujawal. It is also in the lead in Karachi after gaining majorities in union councils in Malir, Lyari, Maripur, and other areas of the city.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has won the majority in Karachi’s Sadar town.
