The Barrick Gold Corporation has initiated work on Reko Diq project in Balochistan.
This was stated by Mark Bristow, the company’s chief executive officer, at a special ceremony at the Chief Minister House in Quetta following the signing of the Reko Diq agreement.
According to him, company engineers have already begun preparatory work at the Reko Diq field and have also begun the project’s hiring procedure.
Earlier, the deal for the firm to pay the Balochistan government $3,000,000 was signed by Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and the CEO of Barrick Gold.
This month, the money will be transferred to the Balochistan government. According to the agreement, the corporation will begin paying payments to the province in March of this year.
In the project area, the company will also carry out social and economic development.
