The government has made the decision to relaunch its laptop scheme for university students, this time with a budget of 10 billion rupees.
Ahsan Iqbal, the minister of planning and development, said this on Wednesday in Islamabad while speaking at a meeting. The Minister said under this scheme one hundred thousand laptops will be provided to the students on merit to digitally empower them.
According to Ahsan Iqbal, the National Bank of Pakistan has also been tasked with creating laptop leasing solutions so that every student in higher education can purchase a laptop.
According to the Minister of Planning and Development, Pakistan can use information technology as one of its competitive advantages given the size of its young population.
