Pakistan is sending aid to Turkiye amid earthquake aftermath

Pakistan is sending rescue and relief teams as well as goods to Turkey, expected to arrive “very soon,” the Pakistan Embassy in Turkey tweeted on Monday.

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced to send aid to Turkiye in a bid to support the relief and rescue activities in the earthquake-stricken nation. “Just spoke to President Tayyip Erdogan to express our profound condolences and prayers for the human and material losses in the earthquake,” he tweeted.

Teams comprising doctors, paramedics & rescue workers are being sent to Türkiye today to help with the ongoing rescue efforts. A plane carrying medicines and other essential relief goods is also being dispatched soon. https://t.co/KfD795gyqS

PM Shehbaz Sharif informed President Erdogan that Pakistan is ready to assist their Turkish counterparts during this difficult time. According to News, teams of doctors, paramedics, and rescue workers have been dispatched to Turkey to help with the ongoing rescue efforts, as well as a plane carrying necessary medical supplies and relief goods. It has also been reported that PM Shehbaz plans to visit Turkey soon, with preparations underway.

The devastating earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, hit Turkey and Syria on Monday and has resulted in over 1,400 fatalities and many more injured. This was followed by another large quake with a magnitude of 7.7 in the afternoon. PM Shehbaz expressed his sadness on Twitter, stating that he is deeply affected by the news of the earthquake that struck the southeastern region of Turkey.
