The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League’s sparkling trophy was unveiled on Thursday in a spectacular event held in the city’s famous Shalimar Gardens.
The PCB Management Committee Chair, Mr. Najam Sethi, revealed the new PSL Trophy, known as the “24-karat Supernova Trophy,” in front of franchise owners, HBL executives, and top players.
Star all-rounder Shoaib Malik of the Karachi Kings and Shan Masood of the Multan Sultan were also present.
The trophy was produced in Pakistan, according to the PCB, and it serves as a testament to the nation’s superb craftsmanship and the Pakistan Cricket Board’s commitment to helping out regional companies.
The national cricket team’s motto, Unity, Passion, and Strength, is represented by the trophy’s three pillars, which are each adorned with 9,907 sparkling zircon stones. The main pillar at the back of the trophy is further embellished with crystals, signifying the commitment and hard work that have gone into ensuring the team’s success.
From February 13 through March 19, four sites will host the 2019 PSL season. The matches for the Multan and Karachi legs will take place from February 13 to February 26. From February 26 to March 19, 20 matches will be played in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
