Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday arrived in Karachi for a day-long visit.
The prime minister will attend the active global joint naval exercises that the Pakistan Navy is conducting with the cooperation of naval troops from more than 50 countries when he is in Karachi.
These exercises, which take place every two years, are primarily designed to create an effective combined strategy against smugglers of weapons, drugs, and pirates.

The ninth maritime transport exercise, AMAN-23, by the Pakistan Navy got underway on Friday.
Over 50 countries engage in the five-day drill with ships, planes, Special Operations Forces Marine teams, and observers.
Pakistan Navy’s multinational maritime exercise Aman-2021 concludes
Since its start in 2007, the navy has held the Aman exercise every two years.
It aims to provide a venue for the understanding of marine ideas and operational cultures, improve interoperability, and identify strategies to counter common maritime threats.
