Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan said he was ready to hold talks with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir for the sake of the country.

The former PM said while speaking to journalists at his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore, that it appeared the army chief saw him as an adversary. Although he claimed to have no issues with the status quo, he promised to maintain his job.

He added that he and his wife Bushra Bibi will continue to fight PDM and defy the government to bring a corruption case against them.

Speaking about a change in his flight to Islamabad for a court hearing, the PTI chief said he originally intended to fly there by air but instead chose to take the highway after learning that a plan had been devised to detain and transport him to Balochistan.

He praised the former chief minister Parvez Elahi for remaining acutely attuned to him in the face of pressure to switch sides. He emphasized that he had made a film about existing situations and had been detained abroad.

He also accused the retired Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, the previous COAS, of tricking him. In response to the former army chief’s anti-Russian statement, he wanted a court martial.

Imran Khan urged the government to hold general elections across the country as it would save the national exchequer. He hoped that the PTI would clean sweep in the upcoming elections.
