Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is likely to inaugurate Gwadar International Airport on March 23.

According to the sources, a test flight will be performed in March of this year on the green field’s cutting-edge runway at Gwadar International Airport.

The leading people in the region, aside from Pakistan and China, will be invited to the ceremony’s opening.

A review meeting on the “Test flight at the new Gwadar International Airport” was held in Islamabad on Thursday, and it was presided over by Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal.

The discussion covered the status of several projects, including the CAA Complex, landslide infrastructure, cargo building, Airports Security Force (ASF) Camp for 1,050 People, and 132kV grid station, according to a tweet from the ministry.

China and Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) are building the airport as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The ATR 72, Airbus A-300, Boeing 737, and Boeing 747 will all be able to land at the New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) for both internal and international flights.

In September of this year, Pakistan’s largest airport will formally open for international travel.
