Police in the country’s federal capital on Tuesday appointed ace speedster Haris Rauf as a goodwill ambassador and honorary deputy superintendent of police (DSP).
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the deputy superintendent of the Islamabad Police, presented the right-arm pacer with the badges during the special occasion.
In a video posted by the Islamabad police’s official account, Haris can be seen donning a uniform and interacting with senior officers of the Islamabad Capital Police.
Haris shared photos from the event and expressed his gratitude for being appointed as an Islamabad police goodwill ambassador. He added that it was an even greater honour to be allowed to wear the same uniform as our heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty.
Haris is recognized as one of Team Green’s premier pacers, and since his debut, he has produced several stints that have won matches. The quick bowler claimed 30 ODI and 72 T20I wickets between them.
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan police picked Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah as the Goodwill Ambassadors of the police force in a bid to promote a softer image of the law enforcers and bridge the trust deficit between the cops and the masses.
