More than a week before the most important Islamic holiday, private schools in Lahore declared the Eidul-Fitr Holidays on Thursday.
Eid holidays will be observed in the province capital from Friday, April 21 through Monday, April 24. On April 25, all for-profit educational establishments will reopen.
While public sector workers wait for the official notification, the Punjab School Education Department has not yet made any mention of the Eid holidays.
As the festival is expected to be observed on April 22, earlier reports in the local media claimed that the cabinet division has started working to finalise Eidul Fitr holidays. According to reports, the Prime Minister’s House will receive a proposal for 4-5 holidays for Eidul Fitr, and the Premier will make the ultimate choice.
According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, the festival is anticipated to take place on Saturday, April 22, 2023. According to officials, the new moon will most likely appear on April 20 at 9:13 am Pakistani time. They added that there would be little likelihood of seeing the moon because the crescent’s age on the evening of Ramadan 29 will be less than 10 hours.
