According to the UK-based Humanitarian Charity organization Penny Appeal, Rabina Mahmood, a Muslim mother of six, completed the London Marathon on Sunday in support of the victims of the earthquake that shook Turkey and Syria earlier this year.
According to a statement from Penny Appeal, Mahmood has been training for the past six months, including throughout Ramadan, while balancing her duties to her family, job, and fasting.
“She is an example to everyone, demonstrating that anything is possible with determination and passion,” it said.
According to Penny Appeal, Rabina “is a supermum who believes in giving back to society.” Her objective is to generate awareness and funds to aid people in need and to provide them with the necessary assistance in the aftermath of the catastrophe. She is collecting funds for the Turkiye/Syrian earthquake victims.
On February 6, one of the largest earthquakes in the area was recorded, shaking southern and central Turkey as well as northern and western Syria, killing over 59,000 people in both countries and displacing over 15 million more.
