India Strengthens Their Position at the Top of ICC Men’s T20I Rankings in Annual Update. Pakistan holds the fourth rank with 254 points, while South Africa is placed fifth with 253 points.
India maintains their dominance as the number one ranked T20I team in the annual rankings update, widening the gap between them and second-placed England.
In the latest update, India gains an additional two points, extending their lead to 267 points and establishing an eight-point advantage over T20 World Champions England (259 points).
Despite a below-par performance in the 2021 T20 World Cup, India bounced back with a semi-final appearance in 2022. Since May 2020, they have been exceptional in T20Is, losing only one bilateral series (against Sri Lanka in 2021) while winning 13 other series and drawing one (against South Africa in 2022).
The rankings consider all T20I series completed since May 2020, with earlier series weighted at 50 percent and subsequent series weighted at 100 percent.
New Zealand (256 points) significantly benefit from the update, climbing two spots from fifth to third place. They now closely trail England, with just three points separating the two teams.
Pakistan and South Africa, the teams overtaken by New Zealand, occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
