Under Passport DC’s annual “Around the Embassy Tour” programme, the Pakistan Embassy in Washington has organized an exhibition of the Elegance and Beauty of Pakistani Culture.
Visitors had a wonderful experience thanks to the world-renowned ‘Pakistani Truck art,’ traditional garments, valuable gems, art and artifacts, furniture, rugs and carpets, and scrumptious cuisine.
Over three thousand guests, including US citizens, members of the Pak-American community, diplomatic corps, officials, members of the think-tank community, non-governmental organizations, and members of the media, flocked to the Embassy to admire the richness and diversity of Pakistani culture.
Various parts of the Embassy’s jam-packed ground floor and the Jamshed Marker Hall displayed the soft power of the country and remained the centre of attention for visitors against the backdrop of instrumental Pakistani music.
Traditional and non-traditional stitched and unstitched designer clothes and bridal gowns, gems and jewellery, hand-knotted rugs and carpets, Chinioti furniture, artefacts and paintings, music instruments, footwear (Peshawari Chappal), and various spices known for adding unique flavour and aroma to Pakistani cuisine were among the stalls. The IT sector was also on exhibit, demonstrating the country’s enormous youth potential in supplying innovative digital IT solutions to expanding enterprises around the world. The ‘Food Taste Corner’ and the enticing aroma of the ‘Tea Stall’ drew visitors from Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland and neighbouring states.

Masood Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, praised visitors for their enthusiastic involvement. He went to many stalls and introduced guests to Pakistani specialties. Seeing the visitors’ keen interest in learning about Pakistan and its culture, the Ambassador underlined key qualities of the country that make it a suitable destination for economic activity, investment, and tourism.
Visitors described it as a “fabulous experience,” noting that Pakistan’s interesting cultural beauty has piqued their interest in visiting the nation and enriching their trip even further.
