In order to strengthen tourism and business links, Azerbaijan has decided to expand direct airline operations to Pakistan.
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, stated that direct flights between Baku and Sialkot would begin soon. He revealed this during a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commerce and Industry Minister Adnan Jalil earlier this week.
The envoy stated that direct flights between Azerbaijan and Pakistan would begin within the next two months. Previously, direct flights between Lahore and Baku were operated, according to the senior envoy.
Farhadov stated that he was in constant contact with the KP business community and that he had multiple meetings with Peshawar Chamber of Commerce leaders.
He stated that similarities in both countries’ cultures and cuisines make their relationship more sustainable. He stated that around 50,000 Pakistanis visited Azerbaijan in 2022 and hoped that figure would increase in 2023.
He also promised to do everything in his power to improve economic and trade links between Azerbaijan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
