Syed Haider Abbas Gardezi – A prominent political activist left the world due to Coronavirus. He was 72 years old at this time, according to the family, his wife is also under treatment in the hospital for the virus. The funeral prayers for Mr Gardezi was held at the Imam Bargah Shah Yousaf Gardezi.
Hassan Raza Gardezi was the father of Haider Gardezi, while Haider Gardezi was the son-in-law of Muhammad Qaswar Gardezi the first general secretary of PNP – Pakistan National Party, founded in the year 1986 as Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo their head in Multan.
Muhammad Aamer Hussaini has said that the deceased first joined the political party PNP and then later he moved to the famous PPP in 1988. He was committed to the Pakistan People’s Party till his very last breath. He further said that;
In 1993’s election, he (Gardezi) was one of the speechwriters of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He was the voice of the left-wing in the party. His demise is a great loss for democratic politics and workers.
