The instant messaging service, WhatsApp, just announced its new feature, ‘channels’, and is currently working on an update to the function named ‘channel notifier’.
Users can select to get critical updates from firms and individuals who are more important to them via ‘channel,’ the app’s one-way broadcast private function accessible in Singapore and Colombia.
The latest WhatsApp beta upgrade would “allow users to be notified whenever channels are ready for their accounts.”
“By tapping the ‘Notify me’ button, WhatsApp will add you to a waiting list, so you can receive a notification when channels are finally available for you,” WABetaInfo explained.
According to the update site, this function is considered particularly unique because the application previously did not establish a mechanism to notify its users when a new feature was available to be used within the programme.
“The ability to choose to be notified when channels are available is under development and will be released to beta testers in a future update of the app,” WABetaInfo said in an update.
