In the two-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka Cricket Board XI at Hambantota on Tuesday, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first.
During the game, both teams are permitted to use all of their squad members.
Earlier in the day, the Pakistan cricket team arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka, for a two-match Test series against the local squad.
Morne Morkel, a former South African fast bowler who has been chosen as Pakistan’s bowling coach, has also joined the team in Colombo. Due to visa complications, he was unable to attend the camp in Karachi.
The Pakistan team’s training camp was completed on Friday (July 7) at Karachi’s National Stadium.
The first Test of the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played on July 16 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, followed by a trip to Colombo for the second Test at the Singhalese Sports Club from July 24 to 28.
The last time Pakistan visited Sri Lanka was in July 2022, when the two-match Test series concluded in a 1-1 tie. Pakistan achieved the best run chase on the cricket field, chasing down a target of 342 and winning the first Test by four wickets. However, the hosts responded with a 246-run victory in the second Test to tie the series.
