Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar’s cabinet is expected to take the oath today at 5 p.m. at President’s House.
Caretaker PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is said to have finished the consultation process for naming individuals to the interim cabinet.
According to insiders, former finance secretary Waqar Masood is expected to be appointed finance minister in the caretaker government.
Meanwhile, industrialist Dr Gohar Ejaz, who was granted the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, is expected to be handed the portfolio of commerce and industry, while former foreign secretary Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani is being considered for the position of interim foreign minister.
Senator Sarfaraz Bugti is expected to be named caretaker interior minister. Furthermore, Syed Muhammad Ali and former Balochistan government spokesman Farah Azeem were being considered for the position of caretaker information minister.
Tabish Gohar will be handed the energy portfolio, and Aneeq Ahmed will be the caretaker federal minister for Religious and Interfaith Harmony.
According to sources, columnist Almas Haider, Umar Saif, Dr. Amhad Saqib, and former SECP chairman Muhammad Ali Ghuman are all expected to join the interim federal government.
It is worth noting that interim Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar commenced his duties after taking the oath of office on August 14.
